Heute morgen wird wahrscheinlich jeder gemerkt haben, dass fleissige Promotiongirls wieder Gratisausgaben der Berliner Morgenpost verteilen. Is ja auch nett.

So that’s what i call service:
After google acquired the software company @LAST, maker of the 3D modeler SketchUP, they now come up with the 3D Warehouse.
This is an online library of free 3D objects, originally intended as a database for GoogleEarth Buildings, it is now filling up with all sorts of objects.
They are all in the proprietary SketchUP format .skp but can easyly be exported in almost all other programs like Cinema 4D, FormZ, 3D Studio, Rhino and the like….
So now you can begin to populate your 3D Scenes with some fancy International or historical Architecture or just get the model of a bed for your interiors.
As a bonus Google released a free version of SketchUP, so that every one can upload his building to the database of GoogleEarth.
SketchUP free is available for PC only at the moment (so i cannot tell you where the cutbacks are), but the full Version is available for both MAC and PC.

Following the defacing of Berlin’s ex-centrum department store also Dresden’s spectacular department store is threathened by remodulation. Like the new owner Kaufhof did in Berlin, Karstadt officials demonstrate their lack of aesthetics and respect by destroing the next symbol of modernism in the GDR in Dresden. Want to rebuild another Frauenkirche?

Back from my short trip to Vienna.
Never had so much coffee within 48 hours (I’m talking about the famous melange of course). I took some photos of architecture highlights by Delugan Meissl, Ortner & Ortner and others as well as of Zaha Hadid’s impressive bmw factory in Leipzig. (I’d recommand to book the architectural tour in the late afternoon to see more of Hadid’s central building).
My new favourite driving music by the way: ApSci – bassheavy electronic hiphop from NY.
